I was thinking recently about the many life, community and society metaphors associated with weaving and the woven supportive structure that results. These thoughts were the inspiration for this piece. A sterling silver grid frame supports a few woven brass strips and the piece is finished with a beautiful clear rutilated quartz which serves to echo the "thread" concept. The brooch measures 3 x 2.5" and is signed, hallmarked and dated 2024. The brooch mechanism is handmade from sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel.
