Much of my work tries to echo and capture memories and experiences of my life. During my childhood, capturing fireflies for an overnight stay in my room is something I remember well. An even more vivid memory is of the old Mason Jar and screen dwelling my mother and I fashioned together to house the bugs for their visit. This jar complete with grass, rocks and sticks seemed, at the time, a comfortable and safe home for the creatures.

This one of a kind piece is completely hand sculpted and fabricated and the sterling silver “Mason Jar” lid measures 3” in diameter. The brooch is fastened with a sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel pin mechanism and although it does not have a dedicated bale for hanging as a pendant there are multiple places to do so.
