Today, as you will see in the photos I am taking this piece out for its maiden voyage. Traditional metalsmith hollow forming magic called a spiculum is shaped and decorated with a corrugated flat wire. The spiculum supports a bezel set vintage glass doll’s eye that moves freely with wearing. The feather light brooch is worn using the handmade sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel mechanism and the piece measures approximately 3” in length and the eye measures 3/4×1/2”.
