Lately I have been taken with the raven skull form and have explored it quite a bit. In this piece I wanted to think about the raven’s birth and explored that concept of newly hatched bird in an abstract way. Forged, textural and fabricated sterling silver with a small amount of brass for contrast. The bird has a carnelian eye, a turquoise “wing” and pearl downy head feathers. The brooch is worn using the handmade sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel mechanism and the pendant is worn using the integrated hidden bale.
