I am fascinated that antique photos of people can be found easily in antique and junk shops. Who are these people and why have their families forgotten them? This piece memorilizes one of these unknown. This guy, c. 1890’s, was given to me in a pile of antique cabinet cards and all I know about him is that he probably was a New Yorker living in or around Canton where the photographer’s studio was located. All sterling silver reliquary box holds his photo, a couple of scraps of 19th century ephemera and a square faceted blue topaz which is loose but is contained by the sterling silver “screen” laced to the front of the box. The brooch measures approximately 1.5x1.75” and is signed, hallmarked and dated 2024. Complimentary tracked and insured USPS Ground Advantage shipping within the US.
