Sterling Silver, Copper and Natural Birch Bark Cicada Panel Bracelet
This week I have had the pleasure of working with 7 other metal smiths at a rural Massachusetts craft School called Snow Farm. I have had an amazing week gently leading these artists through a panel bracelet project. Each of their pieces are uniquely different and wonderful. I also made a piece inspired by the rustic environment that this school sits within. A textural Sterling silver hinged frame supports two panels of fused sterling silver and a third central panel supports a natural piece of birch bark that has been mounted on copper, sealed with three coats of clear sealant and wire wrapped to the frame. A hand fabricated sterling silver three dimensional cicada bug mounts to the central panel. The bracelet clasps with a simple hook closure and the piece measures a total (including clasp) of 7.75” long and 2.25” wide. Signed, hallmarked and dated 2024.
