Happy New Year! For my first piece of 2025 I decided to go a bit monumental and created this all sterling moth piece. Death's Head Hawk-moth (acherontia atropos) is a dark brown and yellow moth with a human skull-shaped spot on its back. As a spiritual symbol, it can symbolize transformation, rebirth, and humans' power to change. It can also represent death, darkness, and the inevitable yet beautiful cycle of life.

The piece is completely hand fabricated from sterling silver sheet, wire and tube and is one of a kind. The brooch is worn using the handmade sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel mechanism and the pendant is worn utilizing the integrated hidden bale. The piece measures: wingspan 4.75” and top of pearl to base of tail 3.25”.
